Hello + Welcome
We are a company on a mission to build a better world for our babies, one closet at a time.
Basal Baby is founded on a commitment to three core principles:
Modern Practicality. Conscious Clothing. Essentialist Attitude.
Dig in below to get to know our service, product, and brand philosophy.
Organic wardrobe basics delivered, as your baby grows.
Your baby will triple in size during their first year. This means frequent size ups and wardrobe updates. Every time baby "sizes up" you need a new set of basics. We simplify the "size up" by sending you a bundle of the essential clothing items your baby needs day in and day out, in other words, the daily uniform of babydom, the bodysuit and baby pant.
Our bundles are delivered direct to your doorstep every three months, which means you will be ready for that inevitable morning that baby wakes up and doesn't fit into anything. Yes, sometimes they really do grow up over night, and because our bundles are delivered direct, you get the benefit of premium quality organic cotton garments at reasonable prices.
We support the slow fashion movement and believe that dedication to convenience can co-exist with commitment to the environment and ethical manufacturing.
Our essential basics are made from premium organic cotton. This means no unnecessary harm to the environment or the farmers who tend it. This also means safer, softer, and sturdier clothing for your baby.
We are committed to supporting ethical manufacturing. All Basal Baby essential basics are made in India by real people and manufactured in fair trade certified facilities. This means no child labor, regulated hours, safe working conditions, meals, and transportation for the people who craft our clothing.
Basal Baby Give Back Program
We help our customers give back and keep their closets lean at the same time. Every bundle includes a return shipping label that can be used to send any gently used baby clothing directly to our charitable partner, Infant Crisis Services, at no cost to you, just reuse the box we send you. We believe in having it all, just maybe not so much of it.
Our mantra is less, but better. This doesn't mean no stuff. We like stuff, just not stuff for stuff's sake. Our goal is to learn to live and accumulate in a way that results in a life surrounded by things that are useful, beautiful, or meaningful, and not a thing more.
We are inspired by intentional curation and thoughtful design, both for life and stuff. Our blog and newsletter are our dedicated spaces for exploring essentialism and a well crafted life. We hope to inspire you to join us in an essentialist revolution.
