What is Basal Baby?

Basal Baby is a subscription service for baby's most necessary wardrobe items made from the highest quality organic cotton. Simply sign up once and every three months, as your baby grows, a capsule collection of organic cotton wardrobe basics is delivered directly to your doors for as low as $25/month. Each capsule contains a mix of baby bodysuits, leggings, and lounge pants in modern gender neutral colors that are meant to serve as the foundation for any baby's three-month size season. The collections are designed to mix and match within each other as well as with other seasonal wardrobe pieces and accessories.

Basal Baby currently focuses exclusively on the first year of a baby's life. Basal Baby subscribers pay up to 15% less than retail.  The clothes are made from 100% GOTS certified cotton and manufactured in fair trade facilities. Shipping is always free. Basal Baby is based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and ships nationwide.

What Makes Basal Baby Different?

Everything we do is guided by a commitment to serving three core values: Modern Convenience, conscious clothing, and essentialist attitude. We are building our business to not only to make exceptional and ethical products accessible to as many families as possible, but to participate in a larger conversation about how we currently consume stuff and how we can do better, for our plant and our happiness.

Who is Basal Baby for?

Our bundles are for all babies NB - 12 months. This fall we will size up to 18 months.

What's included in each capsule collection?

Our capsules are designed to provide your baby with a strong foundation of base layers to mix and match amongst themselves or with other wardrobe items. Each capsule contains a mix of bodysuits, leggings, and/or yoga pants.

Capsules are available in 9, 6, and 4 piece bundles.

Can I pick my colors each quarter?

Currently the colors in our capsule collection are preselected. We strive to provide modern gender neutrals that look good on all babies and play well with all styles. We have 5 new colors coming this fall as well as another special surprise!

Can I buy a single bundle without subscribing? 

Yes. One off bundle purchases may be made by visiting our shop page.

How does Basal Baby apparel fit?

Will my items shrink?

Our basics are not pre-washed, but are manufactured to allow for a little bit of expected shrinking.

How do I wash my Basal Baby Basics?

We are all about keeping your life as simple and efficient as possible. Wash them as normal along with your baby's other clothing. Like any other clothing piece, you can keep your garments looking newer longer, by washing in cold water, but then again, we are talking about babies and big messes.

Where are Basal Baby clothes made?

All Basal Baby clothes are made responsibly in a manufacturing facility in India.

What is Basal Baby apparel made from?

We are committed to clean clothing that is as safe as possible on a baby’s delicate skin. We  are equally committed to providing our customers with clothing that is responsibly manufactured in consideration of human rights and the environment. Our bodysuits and yoga pants are made from 100% Certified Organic Cotton. Our leggings are made from 95% organic cotton and 5% Lycra. All Basal Baby clothes are hypoallergenic, made with AZO and heavy metal free dyes and all snaps are nickel free. Our garments are made in a Fair Trade certified factory.

But I can get a pack of bodysuits at the big box for less?

Yes, you can. You will also get a disposable quality garment manufactured without consideration to the people making it or the environment that supports it. We promise you will see a big difference in the quality, durability, and fit of our basics as compared to what you will find at the big box stores, plus you don't have to leave the comfort of your own home. Because we deliver direct to you, our subscription customers enjoy premium quality for at least 15% less than retail.

We do! These deals are usually reserved for our mailing list subscribers. Not on our list? Join us! Occasionally, we will open up offer to our social followers on Facebook and Instagram.

 

Subscription Service and Management

My baby is growing like a weed! How can I get my next bundle shipped sooner?

We understand not all babies grow at the same rate. If your baby goes through a growth spurt and you need your next size up sooner, just shoot us an email to hello@basalbaby.com and we will get your next bundle out right away.

I am currently pregnant. Can I order a bundle and have it ship at a later time?

At this time we do not offer a delivery for future date, however our bundles come in a beautiful and easily stored box with the size labeled on the side. You can start receiving your bundles now, and rest assure you will have all the basics you need exactly when you need them and easily identifiable in your baby’s closet.

How much does it cost?

Subscriptions plans offer 15% savings over purchasing one at a time and starting at $25/month.

When will I be charged?

Your card will be charged when you sign up and again just before each next capsule ships.

Can I order more than one subscription to the same address? If I have twins?

Yes. You can add as many subscriptions as you like to a single order.

Can I order a subscription for an expectant mother as a gift? 

Absolutely. Basal Baby makes a wonderful shower or new baby gift. When you sign up for a subscription or single purchase, there is an option for gift and gift message. We include a handwritten note in each bundle that includes your message.

What is your cancellation policy

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Please be sure to cancel within five (5) days of your next expected capsule. If you miss the five (5) day window and your next bundle ships, no problem, email us at hello@basalbaby.com and we will refund your account as soon as we receive the returned bundle unused in it's pre-shipped condition.

 

Shipping

When do subscriptions ship?

Subscriptions ship no later than 2-3 days from placing your order

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is always free for the continental United States. 

Best rate shipping applies to subscriptions sent to Hawaii, Alaska, and US Territories.

Do you ship to Canada?

We do not currently ship to Canada, but this could change. Are you in Canada? Would you like us to send you a bundle? Email Michelle@basalbaby.com and we will make it happen.

Do you have expedited shipping options?

We do not currently offer expedited shipping. If you have a special circumstance and require overnight or priority shipping, we are happy to accommodate your needs, just send us an email to hello@basalbaby.com.

Do you charge sales tax?

Yes, however shipping is always free. 

 

Return/Exchange Policy

How do I report a problem with my order?

We hope you will love your Basal Baby basics, but understand that problems and concerns can pop up. Email us at hello@basalbaby.com and we'll do our very best to make it right for you.

Can I exchange or return my order?

Returns and exchanges are accepted on all unwashed and unworn apparel within 10 days of receipt of your capsule if you are unhappy with the products or damage was caused to the clothing through no fault of your own. Please contact us at hello@basalbaby.com within 10 days of receipt of your order with your order number to initiate the return. If an exchange, please let us know which size you need. We will send you a return shipping label at no cost to you. Please apply to the box we sent you or any other box of your choosing. When we receive your return we will credit your original form of payment.

Returns and exchanges are only accepted for the entire capsule collection. At this time we do not allow for partial returns or exchanges. 

My capsule never showed up?

We are not responsible for shipments marked as delivered, but not received, but will do everything we can to help you track it down. On your end, please login and double check the address submitted at the time of purchase. Further, you may check with neighbors or your back door, mail carriers can move in mysterious ways.
